Yeah, I cancelled the card immediately & a new one will be issued. I can't figure out where the number was ripped off. It was either at a hotel, where I rented a boat, or one of the many medical bills I paid. I use this card sometimes for the points earned. I had some hefty medical bills & thought why not gain points, but I'm rethinking that strategy now. Whoever stole it charged items daily through PayPal. So much for PayPal's security.

I don't have, never had a PayPal account. I haven't bought anything online since last Xmas & I always have used security software on my computer anyway, no spies spotted. I strongly suspect someone in one of the medical offices or even the hospital. The hospital was recently bought out by another hospital, there are lay offs, doctors are quitting & a lot of bad blood there right now. I had to get a new internist after the fall out. The hotel & marina who take credit cards all the time should be more secure, but who knows.
What burns me most is all the work I have to do to straighten this out. I had to write a letter of disputed charges for the credit card company. PayPal says they'll prosecute, but I have to write an avadavat. I asked PayPal what they plan to do about this loop hole in their system. Of course, they had no good answers & insisted they are a secure operation. Yeah, right.
Charlotte's mayor managed to have some gas imported from Indiana & it should show up today. I give him credit for that, every little bit helps. The oil is in the pipeline now, but has to get here & be refined. I think the gas situation should ease by next week.
On the bright side, when you have a bad week like that, you know next week must be better!
