I don't remember anything about gas shortages even though I should. Living on a farm in farm country does have advantages. Farmers were always able to fill their on-farm storage tanks.

Gas here is $3.59, no shortages currently. I really feel for those who can't get the gas they need to be able to get to work.

Still running on empty.

Monday: 1 out of 7 stations had gas
Tuesday: 1 out of 5 stations had gas

Within the last week we've been hit by a tropical storm system, the gas has dried up, the stock market crashed & someone stole my credit card number! Just one of those weeks! LOL!

Someone stole your credit card #??!!!!! YIKES! A clerk at K-Mart stole Pop's once. He found out when someone tried to use it to buy a car! I pray yours gets straightened out easily.

You should be able to get gas soon. Prices here have dropped to $3.59 a gallon.

Oh, Gaag, I hope your credit card situation is straightened out! I had that happen once, & I was pretty sure it was one of those companies that I had called to order something by phone. I changed my mind halfway throught the call, but he already had my #. I think he got ticked off at losing the sale. Had to cancel that card & they issued me a new one.
We're paying about the same for gas as Danaus here in NY, so I sure hope the shortage ends soon for you.

Yeah, I cancelled the card immediately & a new one will be issued. I can't figure out where the number was ripped off. It was either at a hotel, where I rented a boat, or one of the many medical bills I paid. I use this card sometimes for the points earned. I had some hefty medical bills & thought why not gain points, but I'm rethinking that strategy now. Whoever stole it charged items daily through PayPal. So much for PayPal's security. I don't have, never had a PayPal account. I haven't bought anything online since last Xmas & I always have used security software on my computer anyway, no spies spotted. I strongly suspect someone in one of the medical offices or even the hospital. The hospital was recently bought out by another hospital, there are lay offs, doctors are quitting & a lot of bad blood there right now. I had to get a new internist after the fall out. The hotel & marina who take credit cards all the time should be more secure, but who knows.

What burns me most is all the work I have to do to straighten this out. I had to write a letter of disputed charges for the credit card company. PayPal says they'll prosecute, but I have to write an avadavat. I asked PayPal what they plan to do about this loop hole in their system. Of course, they had no good answers & insisted they are a secure operation. Yeah, right.

Charlotte's mayor managed to have some gas imported from Indiana & it should show up today. I give him credit for that, every little bit helps. The oil is in the pipeline now, but has to get here & be refined. I think the gas situation should ease by next week.

On the bright side, when you have a bad week like that, you know next week must be better!

I've been spending a lot of time in N S Carolina every week and flew out of Atlanta to go to France. The gas situation in the SE is a farce. Our gas is down to 2.98 a gallon and I had to go to several stations in Greenville to find gas. The oil distributors claim that the SE takes a special blend to fight pollution but that cannot be different than what is used in the NE where pollution is worse......hard to figure.

Gaag, concerning your stolen card, you might want to sign up for one of the credit monitoring services. Don't fall for the "free credit report" websites. As we know, nothing is free. Some credit card companies can connect you to one of the credit monitoring services. It would probably be a good idea to monitor your credit history / reports for a few months. Once the crooks get your info they can really mess things up for you.
