Default No sound on computer

I have no sound on this computer even though everything says it is working. I do not know why it isn't working. I even tried to install a new sound card but it is not being allowed to install the driver from its install package

I tell ya! This new technology is way beyond me Dawn! I've learned from the kids at school and my own 2!

Funny how we "got by" without these things...and now we are so dependant on them! Good luck with it...wish I were able to help...........Pam

Dawn, I wouldn't have a clue either. I think the only thing I'd know how to check is the volume control.

Does anyone have "earplugs" plugged in to a port? My hubby does that and it stops any audio from coming from the 'puter speakers.

No earplugs or headset is plugged into the port on the front or the back. No sound of any kind can be heard, Windows , music nothing, but it shows the videos, shows music playing but no sound comes out.
