My latest find (bug-wise)

Took a walk in the rain early this afternoon. A bright-colored something caught my eye.






A Brown-hooded Owlet caterpillar! This will become one of those little brown grass moths that the ducks love to eat. The caterpillar feeds on goldenrod. I am going to try raising this one in captivity.

Well, I didn't get him/her put in a jar quick enough. It is now on the lam in the house. I hope the rabbit doesn't try to eat it and that if it is found, Tim is not the one to find it. He hates it when my bugs get loose in the house, an all too frequent happening. LOL

Caterpillars I don't mind....most of them are pretty, some are soft & fuzzy, & I don't think any of them bite!
Just be careful where you step barefooty in the dark.
