Check out the ads at the bottom of this page. They are all for Alaska travel.

I'm holding you to that!!

You don't have to have any passport or anything just because you might fly over Canada, do you?

No, and I'm not taking mine either. You do have to have a driver's license to pass through security though. I just wonder though, what if we have to land in Canada? Would we then be stuck there since we didn't bring passports?

When landing for a change of flights we did not not neeed a passport in Tokyo, unless we were to leave the secured area. Or at least that is the way it was five years ago anyway. It seems that they are changing the rules every day. When we drove to Alaska back in "98" one of the U.S. border crossings was unmanned. They just had a sign saying that you were being photographed. We got a real laugh out of the part of the sign that said " do not enter" if you were carring anything illegal. I'll bet a lot of people never entered the U.S because of that sign, lol.

Now if your plane stops in foreign countries, even Canada and Mexico, you must have a passport to board the plane.

We did have a tricky situation on the flight over Canada though. One passenger passed out and it took a doctor quite a while to revive her. We all thought we'd end up having to stop in Canada so they could get to a hospital. But she made it ok and walked off the plane in Minnesota.

There was a story on the news a few weeks ago about a woman that dropped dead in the lavatory on a plane. The story went on to say that there are ( I thought they said) 60 people a year drop dead on planes. The way they were talking I did not really understand if that number was world wide or just in the US. My favorite is hitting turbulence and watching how some people get all shaken up. I am suprised that some of them don't have the big one.
