Most of you know that I moved to Duluth, MN from Florida recently. I had never been here before although we traveled most of the US over the years. But I researched/studied the area over the Internet for the 6 years since my son and his wife moved here.
One beautiful place that caught my imagination was Tischer Creek, a small waterway running down the bluff that Duluth is built on and emptying into Lake Superior. It is a strip woodland, left untouched except for upkeep on two trails: one rough, next to the creek, and one (an old street) sort-of paved and easier walking.
I finally walked it last week and this last Sat. took a new camera to capture some of the beauty. The upper entrance is only about a 1/2 block from my apartment building so I can go walk it often (my son and wife do several times a week).
Here is a slide show of the pictures I took on Sat. along the lower trail. The new camera, a Sony Cybershot, behaved beautifully - think it sometimes re-directed my clumsy focusing.
