Anyone else having site problems??

I am getting so frustrated!!! I don't know what has been going on, but it's driving this impatient woman crazy! The site takes sooooooooo long to open during the day that 99% of the time it times out before 2 anything is on the screen. The other 1% of the time I get the forums page to open (after waiting what feels like an eternity and just before I'm about the give up) but then I can't the GTC to open as it times out. Even on a "good" when the site opens with just a short wait, it takes 5-10 seconds for a thread to open. I know that sounds petty, but I already said I was an impatient woman. I have limited, uninterupted online time and I don't want to wast it waiting for things to open!!

Sometimes everything will seem for while I check a thread or two and then it just goes Kabloo!!

I'm starting not to even bother checking in here daily (or multiple times daily) because of my frustration. All of my other "haunts" open quickly and haven't been having any types of problems. I was just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this.

Hi Deb...no problems today...but have noticed problems once in a while also. A few days ago I was not able to even get in to check on my Thumbie friends.............Terrible way to start my day!............p

I've noticed it being slow sometimes lately. Kinda hit or miss. I just come back later. However Deb, I haven't had it as slow as you describe.

Have you defraged you computer lately? Sometimes cached pages will slow down a computer. So run the defrag tool in Windows system tools menu bar. You night find that your machine will run faster after it.

I thought about that too, Daylily. Deb, clear your internet history & temp files & then defrag. This will help everything on your computer run faster.

I have had problems for 4 days getting on, this morning from the time I started until I was able to post this was about 10 minutes.

Okay, I'm back albeit slowly. I did everything Dee suggested including changing my bio a bit and John deleted all the cookies and internet files. I'm not going to log in automatically and see if it helps too. I'm glad I at least got things to open. I still have a 10 second wait with a blue screen while the thread I clicked on opens. John said it's the site and there is nothing he can do about it.

I also don't like the 3-4" of sponsor ads they have listed at the top of the page. It's annoying.

Hi, deb. Now that you cleaned cookies (or John did), changed stuff and logged out, now try logging back in and setting it to log in automatically or "remember me" or whatever, again. That should get rid of the big ads, I think. Members should not be seeing lots of big ads annoying ads ..I think. I don't. There are some small ones with links, just a line or so, but not big or flashing ones.
