Ta da! A contest!

So as the title says this is the official 2008 Fall Foliage Photo Contest! This should be a relatively easy contest for everyone to enter. (Now, if for some reason, you live in an area where the leaves don't turn or the only foliage you have is the silk fern on the desk at your office, I'm going to go ahead and say you are free to enter too. As long as there is foliage and the picture is taken this fall you are golden.)

Let's talk about Prizes!!! The winner will get an official TheWeatherVane Mug/tshirt** (either/or, it's your choice) and a $25 amazon.com gift certificate.


Here are the official rules from CG

Type of Contest: Fall Foliage Photograph Contest

Contest Dates: The important contest dates are:

1. Start Date: Friday, September 26th, 2008

2. End Date: Monday, December 1st, 2008 6PM PT

3. Poll: December 1st - December 8th, 2008

4. Winner Announced: December 8th, 2008

Prizes: Winner gets a TWV mug OR tshirt and $25 amazon.com gift certificate.

Eligibility Requirements: Anyone from the site is eligible.

How to Enter: Contestant needs to upload their pic and post it in the thread

Method of Judging: Members vote in a poll when the contest ends.

Limitations: None. You can enter the contest as many times as you want.

Own Work: For graphics, photograph and design contests, contestants agree that all submissions are sole stand-alone work of the contestant.

**Crowd Gather is currently working on getting TheWeatherVane a brand new logo. Once the logo is done we're going to make some TWV schwag available. Aforementioned schwag is the tshirt/mug discussed in the highly touted "Let's talk about Prizes!!!" paragraph of just a few seconds ago.

Yes, ma'am!

Right after work. Promise! I have a shot in mind but can't take it in the dark. Got my camera pulled out and placed right in front of my monitor so I can't forget.

heres the best one i have so far...



not the best....but also not as much time as i would have liked to have taken pics
were a little past peak already and lots of leaves dropping....ill do my best to get some more taken but i just havent had time....waaaaa lol

I'm a dunderhead!!

I mis-read the rules and thought it was a "Fall Photo Contest" -- my brain left out the "foliage" part. Our acre is surrounded by trees, but the leaves don't change color --they're either green or dead.

Nevertheless, I offer this view of the back yard:
