From Friday evening through Sunday evening and possibly further into next week may all hold decent severe weather possibilities for the plains states. I've been watching the past couple of days worth of model runs and they are finally starting to converge on some type of solution, although there are still quite a few problems with placement and strength. The latter half of my latest blog post goes over my thoughts, the next updates on it will likely focus on the severe weather threat and my chase possibilities as well: http://iowachaser.blogspot.com

I was noticing this as well, Jayson. The SPC has a slight risk out. Josh, and Dustin are you guys going to try to chase this event? Do you think you will chase, Jayson?

I'm suppose to go on a vacation this weekend although I am closely monitoring things and very likely will probably end up chasing, that being said I am not a real fan of the way the last couple of runs have been trending, they're not quite progressive enough with the trough to get me real excited about Saturday and Sunday it looks like the surface set up might be to far ahead of the upper level support and strong shear. We'll see what happens.

I havent been overly excited about the chase possibilities especially since I couldnt chase Saturday anyway and Fri's cap issues and northern extent wasnt too exciting either. Now SPC has finally jumped on the cap situation and downgrading the Fri play. Im not surprised at all as I have seen this situation at least a few times this year in the same area and the result has been the same each time. Anyway, still watching and waiting to see about Sun or Mon but right now nothing all that interesting to me. Of course, we also have to watch where he are heading since ThreatNet is off for the season and we will just be using our US Cellular connection, not bad in East NE and IA but points north not so good.
