Default Ontario Supercell - July 8th Chase Photos

Caught a nice supercell this evening in Southern Ontario.* Two tornadoes produced damage...tennis ball size hail was also reported a few miles from our location.* We drove in hail for about 15-20 minutes.* Hail got as large as quarters.* The meso was impressive with this storm.* You could clearly see large scale rotation well up into the storm - as you can see on the photos.* Nice striations.* Environmental Canada issued a number of tornado warnings for the long-tracked supercell.* It lasted for a number of hours.* Still waiting to watch the local news to find out more about the damage reports.* I know that there were reports that car windshields were busted out from the Tennis Ball size hail.

Jason Darnall covered radar for me and did an incredible job of getting us to the right spot!

All the photos* can be viewed here

Awesome storm chase!* Especially for Canada!

Wow those are nice structure photos. It is sweet that the storm and sun overlap. Here we get storms that just have cloud all over the place. (anvil cloud usually) Is that type of structure common where you are?
