Default May 4th and 5th

About to embark on yet another weekend chase trip, just finished up finals today so tonight I am gonna hit up the Bars and then gonna awake early tomorrow and depart. Not sure if gonna head WSW or SW yet I'm thinking somewhere around Hays is a decent starting point but I'm sure we will adjust on the way out there. One thing is certain we should be in decent position regardless of what goes down tomorrow for Saturday. Skew-T charts and hodographs are amazing across areas of NW KS and SW NE. I hope I am not just letting the first true moisture and first real CAPE's of the year trick me, but with that amount of instability and quite favorable wind shear its a little hard not to be excited. Just check out the hodographs: appears to be a bit of a capping inversion but no Cap has ever scared me.* Link to HYS chart

Well if I was going I'd head towards the CO front range, or NW KS as you said. Looks like it will be an active severe day for sure.

Well as expected the main threat is looking to be in NE, and KS with a moderate risk out, no storms have fired yet but I'd expect they would later on today.

Is this comment really pertaining to you chasing or nowcasting???* Also, what is the point of posting the obvious???* Anyone who reads this section already knows where the threat is and whether or not storms have fired....

there's already a storm that fired along the dryline just south of Canadian,Tx and just north of Wheeler,Tx. That's just the beginning or it could be the only storm tonight. Choose wisely were you all head out cause this could be it.

If I were there I would start out in north central Kansas and then probably move north as convection fired up. Of course...I live 2000 miles away so to bad for me lol. I can't wait to go storm chasing some day.

Stayed the night in Woodward OK, probably gonna load the gear up here shortly and begin to trek N towards the DDC area, Tornadoes look like a sure bet today, one of my biggest fears however is the area prime for development looks to be the area that was ravages by last nights strong tornadoes, How big of an issue are blocked roadways gonna be.* Guess we'll see gonna probably get quite volatile later today.
