Default March 28, 2007 DISC NE/KS/IA/OK/TX/SD/MN

Thought i would start up a discussion since its only a few days out now.took a quick look at GFS before going off to work, and it looked like eastern NE and northeast KS look the best. 65-70 air temps, 60+ dp's for southeastern corner of NE, upper 50's elsewhere. Only thing i noticed was that GFS had this thing going linear pretty damn fast, didnt show any discrete cells any where in the area i just mention. also, MLCAPE running maybe 1700? not great, but not bad for March. Speed shear looks good, weak surface winds, but increase all the way up to the 200 mb level, directional shear also look fine, with the GFS showing a 180 degree turn from north winds at the surface, south winds at the 200 mb level. again, i just took a quick look at soley the GFS as i didnt have much time, but like i said GFS has this thing going linear pretty quick.

Allright, surprised he hasn't updated over here. :(

Sorry for not adding more to this. It looks like on the 00z that a powerful squall is setting up east of the rockies, while the low should be in iowa at 48 ours, GFS time...

Well the threat area looks to be small today, in LA for the most part, hail and wind seem to be the largest threats from it today.

Looks like the Lincoln to Falls City Nebraska area should be a good for some action tomorrow.

Im not really focused on this one as I decided I didnt like the TOR threat, at least not for the distance I have to drive, and am now focusing on the small threat we have Thursday.* Im hoping we can get something going across the WF across IA but it doesnt look the best.

I wish, the action will be more like 200 miles to the West of that area.* I will most likely be heading out tomorrow.*

Somethings confusing me, if this is a DISC for the 28th (today) then why are we talking about the threat for tomorrow and the next day? As today there is just a slight severe risk in northern LA.
