Well it was just simply a backyard chase with no real risk of a tornado but I guess it was still a chase of sorts totalling about 70 miles round trip. Didnt end up getting anything besides lightning and possibly some very small hail mixed in with the torrential downpours.

Ok, just got back from catching the Worth Co. SVR warned storm, now the Mitchell Co. storm. At the time I was about 3 ESE of Lake Mills just outside what looked like it could be the hail core and a report came in of 1 inch hail but stayed just to the south of it. Didnt take my vid camera and I couldnt seem to get a decent lightning shot with my other camera although was certainly plenty of lightning. It seemed to be mostly a lot of C2C though but was tough to tell through most of it. Pretty intense rains are coming out of these as it was pretty tough driving back on A28(I think) heading south of Lake Mills. Did see a pretty nice lowering my position to the SW of the base of the Lake Mills but I was taken over by the intense showers. Anyway all in all it felt nice to just get out there in March and enjoy what felt like spring today.

Well I don't have a lot to add, because I am not there, but I am glad you got to do a small chase. Also I am looking forward to seeing Mike's and Dustin's chase tails.

5 NWS hail reports from southern MN confirm up to 1.25" hail in Steele County.

EDIT: OIC, not severe reports, chase reports only. Gotcha :)

I targeted the Beatrice, NE area.* I left home to drive towards the target area at 1:30 PM.* I got to Beatrice at around 4:30, when the storms to the west of Omaha were starting to go severe warned.* I then drove north, then west,* to the town of Crete.* where I intercepted the southern cell.* The bases were pretty high.* I then turned around and drove slightly ahead of the storm.* I quit and called it a chase near the town of* Tecumseh.

Not a bad chase for march, and did get some lightning video, although, I wish there would have been more CG's.* That would have made for some pretty good video.

Here is a link to some video of the lightning I shot after dark:*

Sounds cool Mike. Was it mostly cloud to cloud lightning, and did you see any hail?

No... mostly cloud to cloud, with just a few CG's thrown in.* I never sampled the core of the storm, I stayed just south and a little east the enitre time, so I barely even got rained on, while still having a good view of the structure.
