After the first tornado warning I hauled East towards Garnett and shortly after crossing into Anderson County I had to jog North 5 miles or so. I noticed a funnel cloud at 5:20 at quite a distance and called it in to see if they had anyone looking a little closer than I. I stopped and shot a quick short tripod free video of it (made even shakier trying to see past the sun glare on my lcd screen) with the intention of just grabbing a few seconds and getting closer to it. I never did spot a funnel again even though I caught the storm. I headed south to intercept the one near Mound City and that was shot down by a flat tire. These were moving too fast to keep up with while having flats. Anyway I got a little bit of footage from a great distance from which this screen came from.

Some video Stills:

Pretty much caught up to it here.

Cool dude. How far did you have to travel away from home to catch this storm? Also nice pictures, and very good job.

I still have to figure out the miles but that funnel was shot 20 miles from home 15 minutes after heading out.... Yes I was hauling......
Watching the clouds build up so fast here is what enticed me to go. My wife was late coming home so I was a little later leaving than I wanted to be or would have been much closer to this thing.

Total miles were probably 120.
