susie | I have no objections to the one you have up as to the top design, its the colors of the print and background that are not good. As noted above whether reading or writing, the intensity of the background and printing colors is harsh on the eyes and difficult to read. I changed the board back to the default because I can read it. FYI, many of the members have been through this before and the blue on blue and white on blue never works very well for reading and writing. Blues usually work better if they are grey, green, even yellow shaded blues rather than very bright or "clear" blues. And paler for the backgrounds that are going to contain print in any color.
That's about all I care about is that I can read it okay without my eyes watering from the strain.

| | I feel the same way. Even though I'm fairly young, my eyes are not all that good, and I just can't tolerate looking at something so difficult to read for very long. Unfortunately, having a design like that is a sure way to lose even more people.

| | Yes, that is much better. I'd say you could go one more level of contrast on all text /background items. I'd go with darker text on the forum messages...on the "buttons" (Like reply, quote, etc, I'd go REAL dark on the color of the buttons and keep the print white. Or maybe make them deep teal green or something with the white text. I'd keep playing with it. Course I'd never get it "done". LOL.

| | I still think I'll stick with the default skin, but that's definitely a big improvement.
