| | My-Cast on T-Mobile? | | I am looking into getting My-cast for chasing, and I have a razr and T-mobile service.* On my-cast's website, they say they service all major carriers, but under the list of carriers, t-mobile isn't there.* Does anyone know if t-mobile just doesn't allow this service to work on its phones?* Thanks* :)

| | Re: My-Cast on T-Mobile? | | My-cast is a cell phone weather service that gives up to date radar, warnings, lightning strikes, etc on your cell phone for a less as $4 a month. http://my-cast.com/
My best guess is that it doesn't work with t-mobile service... leaving me with no other cheap alternative for radar in my car.* >:(
Side note: It was developed by Digital Cyclone, a company started ten years ago by the Twin Cities most popular (and least accurate) weatherman, Paul Douglas, who is also well-known for his doomsday global warming rhetoric and his most recent book, Restless Skies.* ;)

| | Re: My-Cast on T-Mobile? | | Ok, so 4 dollars a month times 12 months is $48 for the year.* For 80 bucks for life you could just pick up Gibson Ridge and be done with it plus get a product thats actually more useful.

| | Re: My-Cast on T-Mobile? | | Yea, but as I understood it, the problem is that grlevel3 you can't get when you're out chasing b/c you need an internet connection.* So you have to have a wireless service on your laptop which you have to get other equipment for too.* $80 wouldn't break the bank, but some of the wireless devices that I'd need to buy might.* I looked at things like mobile threat net and almost had a heart attack when I looked at the price tag, so I'm hoping there's another way to do it on the cheap. Or if I just have to stop at anywhere they have free wi-fi (McD's, Starbucks, etc) and get radar instead.

| | Re: My-Cast on T-Mobile? | | you can always just find a nowcaster, which doesnt cost anything besides the minutes you use on your cellphone. i'll send you a PM with some other things that might help you.

| | Re: My-Cast on T-Mobile? | | Ok, heres what you do..* Check into your cell company and see how much their data plans are and just get one of them depending on their coverage.* With that you will also buy a cheap data cable to tether between your laptop and phone.* If that option wont work for you then just use all the wi-fi spots you can plus a nowcaster.* That would be all you need right there.

| | Re: My-Cast on T-Mobile? | | Ok, thanks, I'll look into that.* :) I know I have people that can nowcast too if I do need it.* One quick question, when you download grlevel3 as a file, can it be copied and transfered to a laptop via a pen drive if you download it on a desktop, or is it that whatever computer you download it to, it stays there and only there?
