Default Late Start to the Chasing Season?

Have you guys noticed a late start to the chasing season? Seems like we are still having snow and not enough severe, same thing with the Se. Seems like severe season use to start earlier.

Ummmm....I think someone is forgetting about a major outbreak in March in which virtually everyone caught at least 4 tornadoes for the night.* Wouldnt call that a late chase season.* This is maybe just a break in the action, look at how many days people chased in the plains during March...

Yeah,* I have chased 3 days in March, and 1 in Feb. (albeit not very good days).* I think this is just a break in the action...not a "late start"

It may not be a late start, but this is sure a long break in the action.

I dont see this as that big of deal, instead of early April chases there were late March chases.* Pretty rewarding one too if you went out to Western KS and NE or* even TX.

Well for someone who can't do much chasing and can only try to go out locally, it's been pretty dead this far north, but then again, it's April.* Maybe next week's warmup may lead to the potential for an outbreak again, we'll see.

Well if your looking at it from that standpoint, you should be lucky if your chasing up there by May.* June is when it starts generally getting more active in the northern plains.* Actually, although pretty much a bust MN had a MOD Risk day in March so I consider this one so far an early chase season.

Yea, it starts later in the plains for some reason, the early spring is the SE's time so to say.

Actually the southeast usually has its' best chances in Jan/Feb and even the Nov/Dec timeframe...* At least in respect to the rest of the country, that is when they are more active.* March can be a month where anything can happen, these past years there have been good outbreaks all over the plains and it was no different this year, so I don't see where there is a late start to the season...

April & May are the months for the southern plains typically, although the central plains states are pretty good as well.* As we get into later May then the northenr plains usually gets in on the action fairly regularly...* June is the northern plains time, as the south will usually be getting capped off regularly.* July is another month where the chases start to become a little more risky, as even the northern plains begin to cap off regularly.* Then the second severe season begins and some of the autumn outbreaks can occur...
