I know this topic has not been posted before so have you guys ever caught an EF5 or F5 tornado? I know Craig Marie has, with the greensburg tornado, but have any of you guys caught one?

Actually I started a thread asking if anyone has seen a F4 or F5 in the storm chasing area months ago but it is good discusion and will be interesting considering we have twice as many members now.

When you say caught you mean seen or taken a photograph of one correct?

I think Eric was living in OH when the Super outbreak occured in the 70's but I do not remember if he saw any of the F4/F5 tornadoes that hit parts of the state. Dave Carlsen has seen some big tornadoes if I remember correctly.

Josh Richardson and some others (Jayson P?) I think saw the Nicolet or New Ulm tornado or atleast the damage in MN last year in September. While not a F5 tornado that I know of they were still rated as F3-F4 tornadoes. (Correct me if I am wrong Josh)

By caught he means having caught one while chasing, considering this is the storm chasing forum we wouldnt be asking if you ever just seen one by dumb luck or not. So this means you had to have actually been out chasing.
