| | | Favorite Chasing Resources? | | For me, it would be the SPC, as they have the best convective outlooks IMO, which you can not get on a forum... |

| | Re: Favorite Chasing Resources? | | I go to a few sites--most notably the College of DuPage site--they have all the SPC information there, as well as analyses.* SPC comes a close second, IMO.
Of course, that's disregarding the U of M Weather Central page.* ;)

| | Re: Favorite Chasing Resources? | | Well I use several resources but the SPC mesoanalysis page is always a must.* I will also use ST a lot just to see if there is anything else I didnt pick up on and of course I always report back to StormCenter and ST.* So I guess I use three of the mentioned* sites.

| | Re: Favorite Chasing Resources? | | SPC is a must have.* StormTrack is also nice, but I don't really use it much while out chasing. Although, for someone relatively new to chasing, or, someone that doesn't have a nowcaster, it can provide some useful information.*

| | Re: Favorite Chasing Resources? | | My favorite chasing resource is easily Barons Mobile threat net software, service provided by XM* through the WXWORX receiver, it provides excellent data right around initiation.* I also like the SPC Mesoanalysis Graphics page along with their easy access skew-T charts especially during the critical couple hours pre-initiation.*

| | Re: Favorite Chasing Resources? | | It's pretty expensive to buy but well worth it if your gonna spend much time chasing in the plains, the unit and software will cost you about $900 and then you have to pay a monthly service fee of $100 for the good Responder service package and then I think they have a cheaper on for like $40 a month but it doesn't have near as much data.* Here is the link http://www.wxworx.com/ground/index.php

| | Re: Favorite Chasing Resources? | | I guess I forgot to mention that mobile data is also a must have.* I use Alltel phone/thether connection. I get speeds roughly at 56K and it covers most of the plains. ( http://www.alltel.com/business/enhan....jsp?state=nat).* Even in the white area, there is usually QNC service available( 14.4 Kbps) Alltel has upgraded their data network greatly from last year.* While it's not quite like having a uninterrupted satellite feed, with as much as it covers, I can't justify making the switch to XM.* And, as long as I stay connected, I have access to the GR level 3 data, which is much better than the mobile threatnet radar.*
