Why can't they get any true reported wind speeds with tornadoes? It seems like someone would get one.

Well, Sean Casey and the crew with the T.I.V. are working on that with the D.O.W. boys. It's very hard to get a true measurement without your wind equipment being broken and mangled to bits.

The new ultrasonic anemometers that have no moving parts and are good to 300 MPH should help. Also, as more and more private doppler radars spring up, the actual speeds should be easier to come by.
