any close calls

Have you had any close calls or almost got injured during a chase day?

I was chasing once and lightning struck my car, killed the engine and I couldn't start the car. Watched a funnel become a tornado a bit away and just start trucken towards me...finally started my car and got out of the way :o

Yea, one time with a lighting strike near my house, but no really dangerous events.

Closest call was April 15th 2006 when we intentionally had a close call as we had good position, let the tornado come at us until it was 150 yards or so away in the field we then let it cross the road and tried to re-intercept farther to the NE and ended up driving into a rain wrapped tornado just outside of Beatrice.* Also had a close call this year on March 28th as I lost all data and ended up on Mud roads with Baseball and larger stones and wedge torando to my N and a tornado producing storm surging E right at me as well.* I was kind of trapped there for a while had to pick my poison, toy with the tornadoes or the gorrilla hail.* I opted for the tornadoes.

Dustin, i was outside during a STS warning once and lightning hit 100 feet behind me. I dont know if I got a bit of the strike but it threw me back a few feet and my chest hurt a lot... :o
