Been there, done that, only in South Carolina after Hugo. Then there was the tornado that hit our house in KY. And the time my in-laws house burned down. ... Unfortunately, I'm pretty good at clean up. We have a favorite aunt in Swansboro, sure hope we won't be cleaning up, nor you!

Sounds like you are prepared. Good! Yeah, just an ordinary hurricane sounds fair.

Hanna is currently looking less threatening, but now Wilmington has the distiction of being the point of reference for the storm. That's never a fun sign.

And Mike Seidel of the Weather Channel is at the beach.

We had one good but short-lived downpour about 3 hours ago. No breeze at all.
Her Poochness, who's terrified of wind and water sounds, is relatively calm right now.

Uh, oh! I hear the outermost part of an outer band tapping on the windows...

I slept through Hanna. Non-event here in Wilmington. We had flickers but never completely lost power or satellite. Branches down in the yard, as well as a portion of pecans. (Father-in-law says , "Oh, No!! Not the pecans!! ) All the rain soaked in -- nary a puddle anywhere. Her Poochness has plenty to sniff at and is happy this morning. Life is good!

Hi SC Coaster, Fran! Good to hear from you!

Well, Hanna was kind to the Carolinas. I'm glad everyone is alright. We had just a little rain & a few gusts here, not much of either.

Time to keep an eye on Ike.

Hello there Hs'day & GAGG. Thanks for the Hello(s) from you. Yep, it has been a while since I've been around. Hello, also, to Bobbie in NC.

Hannah was kind to us down around the Grand Strand area. I have a Murrells Inlet address but live inland about 2 miles (would really enjoy living on the inlet, though).

This year the 'cane season has already been rocking and it appears it wants to rock some more. Hope we will not have any more 'monsters'.

GAGG - sorry to hear about the pecans !

Fran
