Default Ike Remnants Warning...wind central NY

We're gonna get a piece of Ike tonight in Central NY. It was extremely hot, still, and sticky muggy today. Very uncomfortable heat with temps in the mid to high eighties in mby, maybe as much as 90. I wonder if we have any chance of tornado or dereche with some of Ike's winds coming across the great lakes lakes and it so hot on the ground tonight. Its pleasant, now with the wind picking up a nice breeze and skies clearing out BUT today and tonight are JUST like it was at about midnight on the night in 1998 when we got the amazing Labor Day weekend derecho/tornadoes in huge swaths across NYS and MA to the coast and also from Ohio through PA and NJ, and NYC before blowing off to sea.

Exactly like it, with thousands of crickets singing, a strong, warm winds that are still several degrees cooler than the air ...Temp on my backyard thermometer is still 78. When the breeze dies down its oppressive with humidity. The kind where showering does little good.

Ike just won't quit! It's amazing how a powerful hurricane can race across the nation!

Take good care, Dee! Stay away from your windows. Keep us posted when you can. Thinking of you & all the victims from Ike.
