Looks a little bit disorganized right now. Eyewall cycle I assume. With the warm waters though, I expect it to grow into a Cat 4 (god i hope not) before it stikes land. Looks like New Orleans is in deep poo! They'll be on the northeast corner of Gustav which has the highest surge and wind. Glad they did the mandatory evac!

For those interested, I am keeping a video Log on You Tube.

My first "Vlog" ever. Thought it would be interesting to document the before during and after.

Video Blog on Hurricane Gustav Vlog #2 up.
I don't think anything will happen the remainder of the day or evening, so next one will be tomorrow morning. If something comes up, will just add it to tomorrow mornings video

cool, beech. Where exactly are you located and how far from the coast? Hope you don't get anything truly dangerous there.

Thanks for the videos.

It will be interesting to see another vlog Beech, but like herasday, I'm hoping you don't have any damage to your property. Your yard looks so pretty there.

HURRICANE GUSTAV MAKES LANDFALL NEAR HOUMA LOUISIANA. CATEGORY 2

Hurricane Gustav has just made landfall along the swampy Louisiana Coast. The biggest city city near the hurricane is Houma(pronounced Home-a). The storm did get some drier air drawn in last night and this downgraded the storm from a Category 4 to a Category 3. Once Gustav came closer to the Northern Gulf Coast it also encountered some cooler waters. This may be due to FAY last week. FAY bought a lot of rain to the region and churned up the Gulf a bit.
