The MilkyWay is a very fun and challenging subject, especially when your widest zoom is 18mm, star trails start after about 45 sec. at 18mm. Next summer when I get a sigma 10-20mm these will look alot better, but it is good to get some expirence. Thursday Night I will be going out again, crossing my fingers for extremely clear skies. This is my 2nd attempt.
MID SUMMER MILKYWAY
The conditions were not supreme, it was cloudy to the southeast both nights I went out. But non the less they turned out alright.
This first one was taken a hundred yards from a radio tower, located 10 miles west of Fremont. The shutter was 57 sec. and ISO 1600 F/4.
The second one was taken a mile from Cedar Bluff, NE. The Milkyway overlooking the town, this one was 45 sec. ISO1600 F/4
The last one was taken 5 miles south of North Bend, NE looking northwest at the big dipper, these were very dark skies, but were polluted later with foggy conditions.
Tell me what you think, and if you have any advice, Thanks,
Tyler
