Default Mother's Day Tornado & Hail

The same parent storm that tore through Oklahoma arrived here in central North Carolina yesterday afternoon. A funnel cloud was spotted & warnings were issued for 12 counties. The dangerous storm cell was isolated, but kept its strength for hours as it made a line straight east. Touch down of the funnel does not seem evident, but high winds of up to 40mph & hail the size of golf balls effected many areas. Many vehicles were damaged. The sun was shining brightly at my house as the cell passed just south of here. My dad lives 10 minutes away on Lake Norman & it passed right over his home. He received large hail in his area, but thank goodness, the storm settled down a bit while crossing the lake. We thought everything was over at my house, but ten minutes later another cell popped up & dumped pea sized hail here for about 2 minutes. It tore some holes in my broadleaf trees & shrubs, but we had no real damage other than that. It’s much cooler & very windy here today. One of my garden trellises is trying to blow over as the gusts bend trees sideways.
